Getting Bang for Your Buck in London

Sometimes it feels as if it costs money to breathe. Every time that we step out of the house, money is being spent. Even on the days when you set out to have an easy afternoon or a casual night you still end up dropping fifty pounds on who knows what. There are however, some activities in and around London that are unforgettable in terms of experience, but forgettable in terms of their cost. Some examples include….

1. Taking an EasyJet flight to a capital city

One of the best parts about living in Europe is how inexpensive and easy it is to travel around the continent. Jumping on a Friday afternoon flight gets you into your destination in time for dinner. Go out that night, explore the city on Saturday, have dinner and take in a show, and then enjoy a nice long lunch and a stroll all before making your Sunday flight, getting you home in time for a shower, a load of laundry and a good night sleep for work Monday.

2. Taking a hot air balloon ride over the counties

A hot air balloon ride is an exciting and very memorable experience. It doesn't cost very much money and in return you get to see the most beautiful views and try the closest thing to flying you'll probably every experience. These trips are ideal for couples, families and friends.

3. Seeing a performance at Saddlers Wells

Saddlers Wells has the best dance performances in the city of London. It is casual and the tickets usually aren't too expensive. But if contemporary dance doesn't float your boat, you might take in a performance of some other kind. Either way, theatre doesn't have to be expensive, especially if you're willing to line up for rush seats.

4. Browsing Portobello Market

One of my favourite things to do in London is visit its weekend markets. Portobello, Camden, Borrough, they've all got their own flavour and appeal. And the best part is, they're free! Arriving early is always recommended as they get packed fast and once the vendors are out of stock, they're out of stock. Market browsing is a fun and cultural day activity to enjoy with a friend or even alone.

5. Visiting a gallery

London has some of the best museums and art galleries in the world. Moreover, with so many to choose from, no matter what your artistic taste you are sure to find one exhibition that you like. The galleries are spread throughout the city which is a nice excuse to try little cafes or visit shops you don't usually go to.

One of the biggest selling points about a big city, is that there is usually a lot to do. And with lots of choice available there will always be a cheaper option that you're sure to enjoy.
